Doctoral Award 

Every other year, the Finnish Statistical Society awards an outstanding doctoral dissertation in statistics or a related field with the as yet unnamed Doctoral Award. The award was first presented in 2013 at the Statistical Days.

 

Awardees

  • 2009-2012 — Jukka Sirén, Helsingin yliopisto. Statistical models for inferring the structure and history of populations from genetic data.
  • 2013-2016 — Johan Pensar, Åbo Akademi. Structure Learning of Context-Specific Graphical Models.
  • 2017-2020 — Anna-Kaisa Ylitalo, Jyväskylän yliopisto. Statistical inference for eye movement sequences using spatial and spatiotemporal point processes.
  •  2017-2020 — Santtu Tikka, Jyväskylän yliopisto. Improving indentification algorithms in causal inference.
